Wellspring’s online training courses were designed to meet the specific education requirements toward obtaining or maintaining licensure or certification as an addiction counselor in New Jersey. Due to Wellspring’s status as an approved provider by the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC) and a member of the Certification Reciprocity Consortium/Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse, Inc. (IC&RC) member certification board, these courses also count toward the education requirements of many certification boards across the country for both initial and renewal credits for multiple credentials.
Each state board has its own rules related to online or distance learning, so check with your local board regarding what percentage of your coursework can be taken online. On average, states allow 50% online training toward initial credentialing requirements and most states allow 100% of continuing education to be taken online.
In New Jersey, the Alcohol and Drug Counselor Committee allows the completion of a maximum of 54 hours of distance learning toward the initial 270 hours of education required for licensing.
